Read below for a description of all the ministries and gatherings hubbed out of The Refuge. For up-to-date info on what's happening and when, check out our Facebook page and our online calendar.
  • Book Pub --- A monthly discussion group that meets at Babajoon's in Westminster to discuss interesting and engaging works of (mostly) non-fiction.
  • Contemplation & the Arts --- We host special contemplative experiences during the Advent and Lent seasons, as well as labyrinth walks, workshops, and other reflective experiences through the year. Our small chapel is available for use whenever we are open. We also host art-sharing nights and various art workshops and classes throughout the year, including four-week "Art Labs."
  • Dinner Church --- Sundays, 5-6:30 p.m. --- Sunday evenings are just one piece of our life together, but they're important to many in our community. We eat and sing and share communion together, celebrate milestones, wrestle with the Scriptures, and focus on spiritual formation. Each meal is hosted (with a gluten-free option). After our meal, there's a Refuge Kids program for kids between nursery- and elementary-school age.
  • #Dogchurch --- Periodic get-togethers for dogs and their owners at various dog parks in the area. Kids welcome!
  • Healing & Recovery --- These have been part of The Refuge from the beginning! We currently have two open 12-Step groups, one every other Tuesday from 9-10 a.m., and one every other Friday night, 5:30-6:30 p.m. We also host other groups, workshops, and classes throughout the year.
  • House of Refuge --- We've had several of these over the years, but currently have just one on Wednesday nights in Arvada. It's a smaller, open group that includes potluck dinner and spiritual conversations.
  • Joshua Station --- Refuge volunteers serve dinner at a transformational housing ministry in downtown Denver on various Thursday nights throughout the year. We always welcome more help!
  • Learning Parties --- Throughout the year, we host guest speakers and learning parties on important and challenging topics in the world and the Church.
  • Personal Care Cabinet --- We stock a small amount of non-perishable food as well as items not covered by SNAP benefits, including diapers, toiletries and cleaning supplies. All welcome. Donations accepted.
  • Refuge Advocates --- Meets on first and third Tuesdays each month from 8:30-10 a.m. to provide encouragement, skills and training for those who journey with people in hard places. Includes guest speakers, as well as hands-on experiences and soul care.
  • Refuge Café --- Tuesdays-Thursdays, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. --- Friends, neighbors and perfect strangers converge three times a week for free lunch, free coffee, free Wi-Fi, and referrals to local resources (for those who need them). Kids, pets and naps allowed.
  • Refuge Kids --- Includes our weekly kids program at Dinner Church, special events for kids of all ages and a monthly gathering for teens called "Teens, Tacos & Tough Topics" on the third Thursday of every month.
  • Refuge Reads --- Tuesdays, Thursdays 5:30-6:30 p.m. --- A one-on-one tutoring and literacy program for all ages, especially kids who need help reading, writing, and spelling.
  • Single Moms Unite (SMU) --- This supportive group for single moms and their children meets at The Refuge one Saturday morning each month, and holds special events and gatherings throughout the year.
  • Yoga --- All are welcome at "Basic Yoga" at 5:30 p.m. on Monday evenings.
